- Is this invoice generator really free?
- Yes. You can create, save, print and download as many invoices as you like without an account, a watermark or a payment. The tool runs entirely in your browser.
- Where is my invoice data stored?
- Company details, clients, items, saved invoices, settings and your logo are stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. They are not uploaded to a server and are not included in analytics. Clearing your browser data, or using private browsing, removes them, so use Export data in Settings to keep a backup file.
- How do I create a GST invoice?
- Turn on tax in the Tax and discount step, name the tax GST and enter your rate, for example 18. The generator calculates the taxable amount after discounts, the GST amount and the grand total. You can apply one rate to the whole invoice or a different rate to each line, choose tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive pricing, and show the tax split as CGST and SGST.
- How are discounts and tax calculated?
- Line discounts are subtracted from each item first. The invoice discount is then taken off the subtotal to give the taxable amount, and tax is calculated on that. For example, a subtotal of 1,000 with a 100 discount leaves a taxable amount of 900; GST at 18% is 162 and the total is 1,062. With tax-inclusive pricing the tax is extracted from the prices instead of being added.
- Can I download the invoice as a PDF or print it?
- Yes. Download PDF creates a text-based PDF in A4 or US Letter size with page numbers, and Print opens your browser's print dialog with only the invoice on the page. Long invoices continue on additional pages without splitting a line item in two. You can also export the invoice as a standalone HTML file.
- Can I save products, services and clients for next time?
- Yes. The item database stores names, SKUs, units, prices, tax rates and default discounts, and choosing a saved item fills the invoice line automatically. Clients are saved when you save an invoice, and your company details and logo are reused on every new invoice.
- Which currencies are supported?
- You can choose from 40 common currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, INR, PKR, AED, AUD, CAD and JPY. Amounts use the correct symbol and number of decimal places for the currency. In PDFs, symbols that the built-in PDF fonts cannot draw are replaced with the currency code, for example INR 1,062.00.
- Can I move my invoices to another browser or device?
- Yes. Use Export data in Settings to download a backup file, then use Import data in the other browser. Importing merges the backup with any data already there.
